Support the Countdown to College program

The Countdown to College program brings high school students to the UTSA Downtown Campus for a half-day immersion into the college classroom experience, allowing them to visualize themselves as students at UTSA, perhaps in one of our majors, Criminal Justice (CRJ) or Public Administration (PAD). The high-schoolers attend actual college classes and get to interact with our current students. For the past three years, we have been working with local high schools on this program, especially those in our immediate downtown area. We have gotten strong feedback on the value of this program; it is more meaningful than simply bringing the high school students around for campus tours. We especially need funding support for lunches, which are much appreciated by our visitors, and where they now receive a briefing from the P-20 staff on financial aid options.
