Support the UTSA Libraries' Borrow Tech service
UTSA Libraries’ Borrow Tech service provides universal access to technology for all UTSA students. For many UTSA students, UTSA Libraries are the first and sometimes the only option for accessing technology and other related resources needed for their academic success. The Borrow Tech service recognizes the student need to accessing these technologies required for academic programs, without adding a financial burden. The most checked-out item by students is the Libraries’ 48 available laptops, which can be checked out for four hours at a time at the John Peace Library, Downtown Library, and the Applied Engineering and Technology Library. Additional items available for check out include cameras, calculators, drawing tools, iClickers, media players and projectors, digital media equipment, assistive devices, and chargers. The Libraries continually seeks to procure new tech items, such as the available AR/VR goggles, to support students in building expertise in their respective fields that require advancing technology.

The Borrow Tech service is evolving to meet the needs of students, and now includes a bike pump and Allen wrench sets. These added items highlight the Libraries’ awareness of the different aspects of supporting students with tight budgets to provide items that are commonly one-time or minimal-use purchases.
