Be Counted! is a two-week donor competition that runs from Friday, April 15, 2016 through Friday, April 29, 2016. UTSA colleges will campaign for the popular vote of alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends to win. University President Ricardo Romo will award the top prize of $15,000 to the college that exceeds its donor participation goal by the highest percentage.
Make a donation of any size to the College of Public Policy today to vote in support of our students. On behalf of the students, faculty, and staff of the College of Public Policy, thank you in advance for your support in this campaign.
Download your own Be Counted! graphics here and represent your college on social media.
This year, the College of Public Policy will use your gift to award scholarships and stipends for students to participate in research fellowships, attend professional conferences, and study abroad. Your gift will also bring policy issue thought-leaders to UTSA through our annual Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series that features scholars and analysts who present on major issues affecting the community, the nation and the world.
Each donor will only count once per college. To be fair, the following cannot count:
This competition is not about dollars—it’s about donors! Whether you’re an alum, a faculty or staff member, or a student, your gift matters; we want everyone to be counted.
To make your gift, click on the orange “Make A Gift” button and manually enter the amount you would like to donate.
Promote your college on social media and encourage other alumni to participate. Follow the We Are UTSA Facebook for exclusive updates, download your own social media toolkit here, and sign up for Social Toaster to win exclusive prizes while promoting Be Counted!
YES! If you’ve given to the college since September 1, 2015, you have been counted. If you’re not sure whether you have or if you gave during a prior fiscal year, you must give now in order to Be Counted! Any gift of any amount made between April 15, 2016 and April 29, 2016 (including post-marked) will count toward the campaign and help your college win the prize.
Additionally, if you made a gift to another area of the university, such as athletics, it does not count toward this campaign, however, gifts made to departments or scholarships within your college will be counted.
What if I don’t feel comfortable giving online?
We encourage you to give online, so you can be counted right away! There are other ways to participate:
To set the goals fairly, we looked at the average number of donors a week to each college. We then multiplied that number by eight to make it challenging.
Yes! You will receive a tax receipt via mail following the campaign.
20 gifts at this level could provide the latest software for our students to use.
10 gifts at this level could provide funds for a student to attend a research conference or a stipend for a student to afford studying abroad.
Gifts at this level could fund transportation and supplies for students involved in community outreach programs in San Antonio.
100 gifts at this level could create an endowment, which would fund UTSA students' education indefinitely.
