We are raising money for an architecture installation in the UTSA makerspace. We have created a design that will be a representation of what we can incorporate as architects to the engineering building located on the UTSA main campus. This design allows students from all majors to showcase projects made at the makerspace and welcome students to work on new projects. While exploring the concept of folding in our project, we are transforming 2-dimensional surfaces into 3-dimensional volumes. These volumes organically flow throughout the makerspace, displaying the concept of growth and transformation. We will also incorporate lights into the design in order to illuminate the project and make it feel like an immersive and interactive experience for those entering the makerspace.
Who We Are
We are SNAP’D Studio, a group of undergrad students that are part of the architecture program at the Downtown UTSA campus. We are all on the path to pursuing careers in architectural design. This semester we were given the opportunity to enhance the learning experience at the UTSA makerspace. Our goal with this project is to welcome all majors, inspire creativity, and motivate students to use the resources the makerspace has to offer. The target for our group is to gain experience in team building, manufacturing, and fundraising.
Any donation to this project will make an impact in a student’s profession and within the UTSA community. The project will allow students to explore their work and expand their resources. As part of the UTSA community, we believe that bringing all majors together to inspire and motivate each other is crucial to the college experience. We hope to encourage fellow students to involve themselves within their community and to create a better learning experience at UTSA.
What Your Gifts Will Do
Your donations will help transform the makerspace into a more approachable area for students to explore their work and expand their resources. The money donated will go entirely to buying materials for the art installation. Together we can transform the makerspace into an area open for student collaboration and exploration.
We have a short amount of time to transform the makerspace. Please make a gift and share our project with your friends, family, and colleagues to help us achieve our goal of engaging UTSA students through creativity in the makerspace.
