Our Crowdfunding Groups
History
The Volunteer Organization Involving Community Education and Service (VOICES) was founded by four The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) students. Twenty-three years later, VOICES would like to send student leaders to attend what was formerly the COOL Conference, now known as IMPACT Conference.
Student Impact
The IMPACT Conference is nationally recognized as the largest gathering of student leaders, administrators, faculty, and nonprofit staff committed to engaging students in service, activism, politics, advocacy and other socially responsible work.
Students will have the opportunity to engage in learning from leaders in volunteerism, network with peers who have excellent projects and ideas to share and have the opportunity to gain leadership skills useful in their learning in the classroom and out. The opportunity to engage with leaders and peers is the type of transformational learning that can impact students and staff immeasurably. VOICES is submitting to present our student organization model at the conference.
Community Impact
IMPACT showcases a variety of workshops at all levels surrounding these themes: Building and Sustaining Campus-based Community Service Programs, Social Change, Career Development and Professional Skills.
Sending student leaders would allow us to gain leadership skills, network with student leaders from around the country and bring innovative ideas back to the UTSA and San Antonio Community.
What your gifts will do
Giving students the opportunity to attend this national conference will not only benefit their individual learning, but will also benefit VOICES and service opportunities provided to all students at UTSA. The energy and excitement that students and staff feel after leaving this type of conference sparks new ideas when returning to campus.
Your support shows commitment to helping students develop into active citizens. Your donations will cover registration fees, transportation and room accommodations for the conference.
