Our Project
We are CoNetic, a student architecture workshop at UTSA’s School of Architecture and Planning, and we would like to invite you on our journey. We have been at our project since the beginning of the fall semester with wonderful ideas from the studio being brought forth. We were prompted at the beginning of the semester to design an architectural installation that would have ties to the various historical aspects of the San Antonio region. This installation would be displayed on an area of the wall immediately next to the Majestic Theater on Houston Street for patrons to look at and connect too! We started with our precedent research of artform and cultural icons that were native to the San Antonio region. Using that as a basis for several design iterations, we now aim to showcase the history of this city while also representing the bright future ahead. To achieve this our studio has explored the patterns, nature and human movement in the San Antonio area.
Who We Are
We are CoNetic! We are a diverse group of creative undergraduate students at UTSA’s School of Architecture and Planning. We are a mix of juniors and seniors all at different levels in our educational journey. In our group, many great ideas flow through conversation just naturally and it makes us that much closer in resemblance to an actual firm. Our project this semester has given us the opportunity to connect with the locals and tourists that will engage with our project. As a studio, we have learned how to work together and learn the dos and don'ts of a Design-Build studio.
What Your Gifts Will Do
All gifts will help us bring our creativity to life, from purchasing materials to all fabrication and production of our project. It also gives us the opportunity to display our work to by passers, setting a milestone for our studio to look back on! It takes a community to make all things possible.
