Dr. Romo has issued a challenge to all alumni to make a gift to increase UTSA’s 2014 alumni giving participation rate—so far 3,400 alumni have made a gift this academic year! With only a few weeks left to reach the goal of 4,575 donors by August 31, your fellow Roadrunners have launched the Alumni City Race.
The goal of the race is to raise $20,000 in 31 days, while showing city pride and engaging in friendly Roadrunner competition.
Gifts to the Alumni City Race will fund scholarships and other important opportunities within each college, as well as alumni programs.
Each geographic area will raise a portion of the goal based on the approximate number of alumni living in the area.
The area that raises the highest percentage of their goal, or over, will be named the champions.
The university crowdfunding platform, Launch UTSA, will track gifts in real time for each city. Please join your fellow alumni in the race to take UTSA to Tier One status by making a gift by July 31.
-Exclusive Alumni City Race medals for each donor who contributed from the winning city.
-Your area’s name on the coveted Alumni City Race plaque, awarded at the Alumni Association Gala in August.
-Regional pride!
-PLUS, a student from your area will be awarded a scholarship!
Email your fellow alumni with the link to Houston's page and share using the hashtag #UTSAHouston
Thank you—all gifts help UTSA in the race to tier-one status!
If you made your gift at a recent Alumni Road Trip it has already been calculated as part of your city’s goal. If you made your gift prior we encourage you to join the race and participate in giving through Launch UTSA—a contribution at any level will help your city win the 2014 Alumni City Race.
Alumni giving is a metric that many ranking entities, including U.S. News and World Report, use when factoring university rankings. Alumni giving improves tradition at the university and elevates UTSA’s reputation, making your degree even more valuable.
San Antonio, Austin, Houston and DFW have a high percentage of proud Roadrunners while Laredo, Corpus Christi, and the Rio Grande Valley have growing excitement for UTSA.
We know there are proud Roadrunners everywhere and don’t want you to be left out! If you live outside of the cities or regions listed, we encourage you to support the goal for San Antonio and Roadrunner Nation—after all UTSA will always be home!
Thank You! You've helped Houston advance in the Alumni City Race.
