Collegiate Entrepreneur's Organization, Pitch Competition

Who We Are

The mission of Collegiate Entrepreneur’s Organization (CEO) is to give those with an entrepreneurial spirit the chance to grow as individuals, share ideas, give feedback, and connect with others.

CEO gives students opportunities to network, not only with their student peers, but with fellow entrepreneurs in the business world, to promote entrepreneurship at all levels and in all environments. Entrepreneurship touches all fields of business operation, and helps students sharpen a variety of skills such as presenting, conducting primary research, secondary research, proper etiquette, leadership, building networks, sharing ideas, team building, and helping one another. CEO assists and develops students to become the passionate, professional entrepreneurs they were born to be.

The Goal

Our goal for crowdfunding is to grow the Bi-Annual Collegiate Entrepreneur’s Organization (CEO) Pitch Competition.

Established in fall 2014, the CEO Pitch Competition is a bi-annual event where undergraduate and graduate students of all majors get the opportunity to pitch their business idea in 90 seconds or less, for the chance to win $1,000.

With increased attention from the university, as well as student entrepreneurs, CEO’s goal is to expand the event in order to give student entrepreneurs the chance to not only win cash, but to further pursue and develop their idea into an actual business. The future goals of the CEO Pitch Competition include incorporating more incentives for students that place, as well as giving more opportunities to all contestants.

CEO members will not only have the opportunity to pitch their business idea as a contestant, but will also benefit through improving necessary professional skills such as task delegation, leadership, and planning a major event.

We need your help to provide more experiences like this and further CEO’s mission, so that members are well prepared to be future business owners and impact our communities.

The Impact on UTSA and the Community

CEO at UTSA is not limited to students in the College of Business. We encourage students from all majors to join CEO because we know students with the entrepreneurial spirit are found in every field of study. The diversity of students in CEO is one of the reasons this organization is rather unique. Our extensive network including CEO’s company presidents, UTSA alumni, as well as business professionals and entrepreneurs in the community is continuing to expand through our outreach. CEO at UTSA also provides workshops in preparing student members for any type of business pitch they may have to present, whether during interviews, in meetings with business professionals, or in preparation for our very own Pitch Competition.

When you invest in CEO, you are helping students develop skills necessary to become confident and successful leaders as well as giving them opportunities to develop their business ideas on a professional level. The student members of CEO are all the future leaders of this community, and any help that is offered will benefit the organization, as well as create opportunities for the members which would not have been possible otherwise.
