Support COLFA Study Abroad: Music in Urbino
During the Spring 2018 semester, students from the Department of Music will participate in a faculty-led study abroad program in Urbino, Italy. While living in the heart of this renowned center of Renaissance art and culture, students will have the extraordinary opportunity to complete required courses that count toward the Bachelor of Music degrees at UTSA while working closely with professional Italian musicians and gaining a first-hand experience of the traditions and culture of music in Italy.
One of the most valuable components of the Music Semester in Urbino is the opportunity to travel. During the semester, students make extended 3-day trips to Venice, Rome and Florence plus day trips to Pesaro, Fano, Bologna, Ravenna, Assisi, Perugia and Ferrara. All trips are faculty-led with itineraries that are carefully designed to enhance and augment the classroom material. Students visit sites and attend concerts that are relevant to their courses to gain a direct experience of the music and the context in which it was composed and first heard.
Please help us raise money to cover the cost of concert tickets, museum and gallery entrance fees throughout the semester. Your gift makes a lasting contribution to the educational experiences of music students at UTSA.
Thank you for your support of this once in a lifetime experience! Please spread the word about our project by sharing on social media with others who are passionate about music and helping students.
