Our Crowdfunding Groups
We want to send a warm thank you to all who have contributed to our project. As students, it’s wonderful to actively contribute to improving our community and meeting important needs.
Recently we’ve learned that:
-More than 1/3 of children in 2010 were reported as being overweight or obese and much of the obesity in children is the result of eating too many calories, not getting enough exercise and various genetic or environmental factors (Cabrera, 2014)
-24% of children in San Antonio between the ages of 3 and 5 are overweight while the state average for the same age group is 16.8% (Guerra, 2009)
This is what we are working to combat! We’re so excited you’ve joined with us to make a difference for children in the Edgewood district.
Although we have reached our goal we will keep the project open another week—the more funds we raise through this site, the more support we will be able to provide to the Madonna Center.

A gift at of $10 covers the cost of two basketballs. Our class will send donors at this level a handwritten thank you note.
A gift of $25 covers the cost of two tennis racquets and a can of tennis balls
A gift of $100 covers the cost of ten jump ropes. Donors at this level will receive a shout out on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)
A gift of $250 covers the cost of two soccer goals, a soccer ball, shin guards, and field cones! Donors at this level will receive a shout out on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)
A gift of $500 covers the cost of twenty footballs, twenty-four flag football belts, twenty-four scrimmage vests. Donors at this level will recieve a Community Center photo and thank you note
a gift of $1000 will provide the Madonna Center with an increased budget to provide children healthier food options. Donors at this level will receive a Community Center photo, handwritten thank you note, and shout out on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)
