KeVhana's Gifts

This endowed scholarship will honor the memory and celebrates the life of KeVhana Warfield – a 2019 graduate of UTSA and a FOREVER Roadrunner.  KeVhana passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, surrounded by her, friends, family, classmates, sorority sisters, siblings, and parents Kimberly and Gary Warfield.  During her 25 years with us, she lived a life full of love and laughter, unconditional friendships, everlasting sibling love, family dedication and so many fun memories as a student at UTSA.

She loved life, great food, and great music and has always been the social butterfly to everyone she met – especially her closest friends and roommates at UTSA who are still her best friends today.  While at UTSA, KeVhana was a member of the UTSA Pom Squad Dance Team and held leadership roles as Student Counselor and Mentor to Incoming Freshmen, Executive Board Member of Youth Behind Movement (YBM), and Leasing Consultant at Prado Student Living.  During her senior year at UTSA, she served as President of the Upsilon Nu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. where, under her leadership, the chapter was voted “Best Student Organization of 2019” by the other registered UTSA student organizations.  The chapter also gained additional awards and accolades from Delta Sigma Theta’s regional and national leadership.

KeVhana was active in the Houston & San Antonio communities through dance and selfless giving of her time.  She was an active member of UTSA V.O.I.C.E.S. student volunteer organization, Best Buddies International (Houston Chapter), and was an active volunteer with Haven for Hope, Ronald McDonald House, and the City of San Antonio Food Bank. She was crowned Miss Pearland’s Outstanding Teen of the Miss Texas organization and gave countless volunteer hours during her reign.   She volunteered her time to perform for the residents in nursing homes of her grandmother in Vicksburg, MS and of her AMSDS studio director in Houston, TX.  While attending Kempner High School, KeVhana was also captain of the dance team and received numerous accolades from other organizations – including a scholarship from her other dance studio – DanceZone.

Donations in memory of KeVhana will provide scholarships to enrolled UTSA students who display “KeVhana’s Gifts” in leadership, in the arts, and in the community. These qualities, along with her beautiful smile and spirit, made her our one-of-a-kind angel.

“Sweet KeVhana, our family celebrates you and will always carry you in our hearts.   Your parents, sister, two brothers, two nephews, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, sorority sisters, and many, many friends will celebrate your legacy of leadership, true friendship, everlasting joy, and that sunshine spirit you shared in your soul. You still have the best laugh that will ring joy in our ears as we watch and listen to our many memories of you.”
