Rowdy Cannon Campaign

We are working on bringing a life-size cannon to UTSA to use at our football games and other UTSA events. UTSA resides in San Antonio, Military City, USA, and in honor of that, UTSA should have its very own Rowdy Cannon. Operated by Army ROTC Cadets, this cannon will be fired from the sidelines every time we score at our home football games. The Rowdy Cannon can be utilized at other university events like Fiesta UTSA, Midnight Light, Graduation and other celebrations.

A donation to the Rowdy Cannon will be an investment in starting a great, long-lasting tradition for the UTSA community. Having a cannon will further establish the Rowdy brand, improve the UTSA Football experience with more participation and attendance and further prove UTSA is a top-tier university.

The money raised in this campaign will go to the construction of a custom built Rowdy Cannon, a custom-built trailer and the costs associated with firing the cannon. In order to adequately fund this project, we will need at least $20,000. Every donor who gives $20 or more will get to vote on the color scheme for the Rowdy Cannon.

For the past year and a half, our team has done the legwork of getting all the proper parties, organizations and departments involved necessary to make this happen. We need #AllHandsOnDeck from every Roadrunner - alumni, friends and family - to promote and fundraise for this project. We are calling on each and every one of you to promote this campaign on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and any other social media sites.
